Are you planning on sending mail abroad this Christmas? 25th December may still seem pretty far away but if your loved ones live in different countries and you’re going to be sending gifts and cards over, it’s never too early to prepare! The dates for international post are coming up, maybe sooner than you think!
The last day that the Royal Mail is recommending for cheapest delivery (international economy) to Western European countries is November 17th. So there is not long at all if you require presents to travel to countries such as France, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
With regards to the rest of the world, using standard airmail delivery, the last days of posting to the following areas are:
Africa and Middle East – December 4th
Asia, Cyprus, Far East, Japan and Eastern Europe – December 7th
Caribbean & Central and South America – December 8th
Greece, Australia and New Zealand – December 10th
Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Poland – December 14th
Canada, Finland, Sweden and USA – December 15th
Austria, Iceland, Ireland, Portugal, Spain – December 16th
France – December 17th
Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia and Switzerland – December 18th
The last recommended UK posting dates with Royal Mail are as follows:
Second Class Mail – December 19th
First Class Mail – December 21st
Special Delivery – December 23rd
There will not be any collections or deliveries on Christmas Day or on New Year’s Day.
Thinking of Ordering From UK Christmas World?
Here at UK Christmas World we are already very busy planning for our Christmas deliveries. If you are wanting to order something special from our outlet, the last day for orders before Christmas is 23rd December, where deliveries should reach you on the morning of Christmas Eve, but this cannot always been guaranteed as the postal services are so busy at this time! We highly recommend that if there is something you have got your eye on, order it early so that it will arrive in time for Christmas and while stocks last!
What about Letters to Santa?
The Royal Mail Postal Service will deliver letters to Santa Claus for free. If you are hoping to get a reply from him, you should send your letters by 6th December. Here is the address that you will need for your children’s’ letters (make sure you include your full name and address, so the Christmas Elves know where to return them):
