Shoebox Appeal Collection!
You may have seen that here at UK Christmas world, we were an official collection point supporting the Samaritan’s purse Operation Christmas Child programme. It was an incredible success for us and we couldn’t believe how many of our wonderful customers got involved! We are still overwhelmed by your responses and are so happy that we can be a big part of making a child’s Christmas special somewhere in the world!
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated one box or maybe even more! You really did help to make Operation Christmas Child so successful here at UKCW. We filled Santa’s sleigh full of your fantastic shoeboxes, but it was overflowing! We couldn’t believe how great you all did preparing gifts which will now be shipped worldwide.
Altogether we managed to collect around 170 shoeboxes which is an incredible amount! It just shows that here at UK Christmas World are number one for keeping the Christmas spirit alive! And that thanks to you, a child somewhere in the world, who is less fortunate than ourselves, and wouldn’t otherwise be receiving a Christmas present, may actually get a smile on their face this year at the sight of all your generous gifts!
Operation Christmas Child is an international relief and development organisation working through local churches to demonstrate the love of God throughout communities in Central Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe. The shoeboxes you prepare may only be small, but once they are filled with fun, the effects can last forever! Many of you will have chosen to include hygiene items, meaning the children can stay clean, and school supplies such as pads of paper, pens and pencils, meaning they will be able to get an education, and fun toys which they can enjoy with their friends in their spare time. In some of these countries, if children do not have their school equipment provided it unfortunately means they cannot go to school. So with your help this year, a child may get to go to school for the very first time!

Seeing the results is so rewarding and we are very thankful that we all could be involved this year. It is a great feeling that you have made a little one happy somewhere in the world this festive season.
