Stars of Darton West Awards

On Friday evening our Director Eddie Riby attended the "Stars of Darton West Awards" ceremony at Barnsley Town Hall. His nomination for ‘’Community Business Contribution’’ came from Councillors Linda Burgess, Alice Cave and Sharon Howard. 

The event was attended by around one hundred people from the local community including Mayor Ken Richardson, Martin Farren and Dan Jarvis MP.

We were pleased to see that Eddie won the award for his contribution to the local community after donating Christmas lights to the local area for the first time in the villages history. Twenty six large lamp post motifs lit up the streets around Barugh Green each night throughout the Christmas period along with a large Christmas Tree outside the local Primary School which Eddie attended – many years ago!

The lights were also supported by our local councillors who used part of the ward funds to help pay for the installation and removal of the lights.

We look forward to working with the local community again this year and hope that the light display can be expanded on so even more people can enjoy the magic of Christmas 2015.
