Lights All Year Round

Christmas is over, blue Monday has come and gone… you are now faced with the herculean task of dismantling the wonderful display of Christmas decorations you spent hours crafting like a merry Michelangelo armed with mulled wine and gingerbread.

However, dear reader, would you believe me if I told you that this is not the end, and your lights will live for eternity? Or at least until they run out of battery! Anyway, that sounds like a problem for next year, but in the meantime, let us show you a few of the ways you can utilise your Christmas lights all year round.

Many households, our own included, have a fireplace in a room that doesn’t lead to anywhere and is seemingly just for show. You could go through all the effort of turning it into a real functioning fire, but why add another job to your list? Simply take some strategically placed logs, weave in your favourite fairy lights, and transform your living room into a welcoming reception area.

You can see here how, while remaining understated, just adding some fairy lights can have a resounding effect on the feel of the room. (Image from Pinterest)

We do have a fantastic range of lights for both indoor and outdoor use, which means that now you have no excuse to not get creative with your decorations. Hey! Stop! Don’t put that box in the attic, we’re not finished yet. I’m sure we can find something that tickles your fancy if you just stick with us…

This one may seem obvious, but using lights around your garden has become very popular and it’s clear to see why everyone is doing it. For summer evenings when it stays warm long after the sun has gone down and the light has faded, what better way to prolong your evening garden party than soft light emanating from your shrubbery, illuminating your evening for hours to come.

We can see that box hasn’t been put away – we’re so glad to see you listened to us. It’s great when a plan comes together. Anyway, let’s not dilly dally, on to the next bright idea (geddit?)!

Most people have at least one dark and poorly lit hallway in their house. I’m starting to think its part of the building regulations ‘Must reach the dull hallway quota’. But my adoring audience! It does not have to be this way. With some stray blutack and a dash of ingenuity you can melt the tension and turn a once murky ordeal into a journey of wonder and whimsy. Until they are turned off of course.

And would you look at that, without those lights this hallway would be incredibly ominous, but with some simple additions it’s been filled with a friendly glow.

Now I fully understand that I will never convince all of you… so I’ll make you an offer something more suited to your needs, just to make your life easier. I give you, the humble storage reel.
