Different Christmas Present Wrapping Ideas
As we all know, Christmas is a very costly occasion. If it’s not the presents, it’s the turkey and the tree. And it doesn’t stop there. In USA, on average, we spend $2.9billion on gift wrapping and related accessories every year. Here is some nifty little gift wrapping ideas to not only get your creative juices flowing, but to also save you some extra pennies in case you have to stock up on extra mince pies!
When it comes to wrapping paper, the sky is the limit. You don’t have to restrict yourself to the usual daring, in-your-face Christmas paper. You can use any spare rolls of paper you may already have at home: flock print paper is great all year round, whether it be for birthdays or Christmas. To add a touch of quirkiness to your present, use a contrasting ribbon to tie around the paper and attach a gift tag in the shape of a reindeer or a snowflake. A ruby red ribbon really does add a luxurious feel by completing the look of your present and also screams “It’s Christmas!”
Brown paper is such a simple, but effective way of wrapping your gifts. This way, you are able to customise your gift with a snowflake-esque lace ribbon and make that the focal point of your present. Or to really brighten up your gift, intertwine a white and green ribbon around the present and secure with a big bow. Plain coloured paper is also an option. Red or white paper looks simple and sophisticated, wrapped up by a piece of brown cord or string.
Comics, magazines and newspapers can also add that personal touch to a gift – for all the Marvel loving sons out there and the One Direction obsessed little girls. You may have old newspapers stashed away in a cupboard and if the articles remind you of a certain time with a certain person, then this will definitely make opening your gift one to remember. Old maps also add a sense of nostalgia and bring back all of those memories for keen-travellers (even better if you had shared them together!!).
Personal Touches
Alphabet ink stamps are very popular around the festive period and add a special little touch to your gift. This way, you don’t have to spend any extra money on gift tags – it’s already addressed to the person!
There are also some very innovative ideas in terms of making your own Christmas prints. Make your own using foam or rubber and wrap it around a rolling pin or simply just stick it to a piece of paper – and then apply any colour paint of your choice.
Plain Sellotape can often be a boring solution to wrapping your presents. You can find Christmas themed prints transferred on to Sellotape which makes excellent edges or borders, as well as keeping your gift nice and snug.
