The first Christmas Tree comes from Warsaw in Poland. This spectacular tree stands at just over 88ft tall (that's 26 metres!) and stands in the centre of Castle Square in front of the Royal Castle. The tree is flooded with thousands of purple LED lights.

Rio de Janeiro broke the World Record for the largest tree with this incredible 280ft Christmas Tree lit with 3.1 million LED lights. Not only it this the largest lit Christmas Tree in the world but also it floats on 11 specially constructed platforms on the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.

There was controversy in Brussels in 2012 as the traditional 65ft pine Christmas Tree was replaced with a modern 82 foot cubic abstract light display. This is by far the most unique Christmas Tree we have ever seen.

Also in 2012, a beautiful 69ft Christmas Tree designed by Swarovski took centre stage at the centre of the Galeries Lafayette department store. The tree was covered with over 600,000 LED lights and 120 large Swarovski crystals. The tree sat on a chandelier base which was decorated by hand with a further 5,000 smaller Swarovski crystals.
